The parents of a one-year-old young lady who kicked the bucket after they left her solo in a shower while they consumed medications have been imprisoned.
Kelsey Harrison, 28, and Eddo Aziz, 37, were imprisoned at Wolverhampton Crown Court for the passing of their girl Elaina Rose Aziz, who experienced a heart failure in August 2020.
After Harrison pleaded guilty to manslaughter and gross negligence, child abuse, and possessing an offensive weapon in connection with an unrelated offense, she was sentenced to five years in prison.
Aziz was also sentenced to 16 months in prison for child abuse after admitting it at a previous hearing, but he will only serve half of it.
Although the two individuals denied any wrongdoing, toxicology examinations revealed that they had left Elaina in the bathtub at their home in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, while they were under the influence of drugs.
